We’re very fortunate to live in a lovely and green part of Melbourne that lies on the fringe of the city. It’s known as the ‘Green Wedge’ and for good reason. On my commuting ride into town I get to ride through areas devoted to keeping horses and cattle and where kangaroos can be seen relaxing in the evenings. Head out the other way and within minutes I can be in the hills of Kangaroo Ground, the Yarra Valley, Kinglake, Arthurs Creek etc. Whenever I’m on the bike, I’m always aware of this, taking in the beauty that surrounds us.
